| Resumen: | El objetivo fue determinar la efectividad del programa educativo en el incremento de conocimientos del familiar responsable del paciente pediátrico en el postquirúrgico en el servicio de Neurocirugía en el Instituto Nacional del Niño San Borja - 2014. Material y Método: El estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, nivel aplicativo, método cuasi-experimental de un solo diseño de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 30 familiares. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario aplicado antes y después de la ejecución de programa educativo, previo consentimiento informado. Resultados: Del 100 por ciento (30), 33 por ciento (10) conocen y 67 por ciento (20) no conocen, y después del programa educativo, 97 por ciento (29) conocen y 3 por ciento (1) no conocen. Conclusiones: El mayor porcentaje de los familiares responsables del paciente pediátrico en el post operatorio antes de la aplicación del programa no conocen que el sueño debe ser de 8 a 10 horas, la lactancia materna exclusiva al menor de 6 meses, evitar el ruido y las luces intensas y luego del programa educativo la mayoría conocen la importancia de la higiene, alimentación, tratamiento, el control y el apoyo psicoafectivo; aprobándose la hipótesis de estudio mediante la prueba t de student referido a que el programa educativo es efectivo en el incremento de los conocimientos de los familiares responsables del paciente pediátrico en el post operatorio. (AU)^iesThe objective was to determine the effectiveness of the educational program in increasing knowledge of the family responsible for the pediatric patient after surgery in the department of neurosurgery at the National Institute of Child San Borja-2014. Materials and Methods: The study is quantitative, application-Level method quasi-experimental single cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 30 family caregivers. The technique was the survey instrument and a questionnaire administered before and after the implementation of the educational program, prior informed consent. Results: 100 per cent (30), 33 per cent (10) know and 67 per cent (20) do not know, and after the educational program, 97 per cent (29) know and 3 per cent (1) do not know. Conclusions: The highest percentage of family caregivers of pediatric patients in the postoperative period before the implementation of the program does not know that the dream must be 8 to 10 hours, exclusive breastfeeding under 6 months to avoid the noise and bright lights educational program and then most know the importance of hygiene, diet, treatment, control and psycho support; approving the study hypothesis by Student's t test relative to the education program is effective in increasing the knowledge of the family responsible for the pediatric patient in the postoperative period.
